THE LIPSTICK BUILDING, New YORK City

In 2016, Ceruzzi Properties and Partners acquired the fee interest underneath the Iconic Lipstick Building at 885 Third Avenue for $455 million. The Lipstick Building is a 34-story, Class A office building whose unique architecture makes it one of the most recognizable properties in New York. Its state-of-the-art building systems and varying floor plate sizes appeal to the widest array of tenancies. Totaling 586,589 square feet, the Lipstick Building was completed in 1986 and has been institutionally owned and maintained since. Its rare elliptical design draws the eye from all vantage points in Manhattan. The rose-colored granite facade, uninterrupted window line and generous ceiling heights all contribute to the building’s prestige. Located on the East 53rd Street corridor, this renowned building was designed to complement a large, aesthetically pleasing urban plaza. The lobby, both dramatic and elegant, rises over 30 feet and centers on a large, marble-clad concierge desk to welcome guests of the building’s premier tenancy.

Manhattan’s East Side is the long established home of tenants who dominate the tenant base, which is concentrated in the 5,000 to 50,000 square foot range. These tenants include international banks, trading firms, service providers, accountants, law firms, embassies, and satellite offices for international corporations. Such tenant types are also represented within the Lipstick Building. The building’s full-floor spaces appeal to tenants seeking the prestige of full-floor identity, and multiple tenants enjoy the services and amenities in one of Manhattan’s finest buildings.
